Abstract

A case of COPD, combined with tuberculosis of the lungs and suprarenal gland, is described. Tuberculosis was diagnosed only post mortem. The rate of the post mortem diagnosis of tuberculosis in different countries is presented. The absence of diagnostic clues and possible endogenic or exogenic sources of tuberculosis infection are discussed. Chronic lung diseases and long-term treatment with hormones might be the factors contributing to a boost tuberculosis infection.
