Management of bladder dysfunction in the case of urinary incontinence

Abstract

Urinary incontinence is a common problem in older age as well as in the case of several

diseases and traumas. Proper treatment is based on the exact diagnosis of bladder

dysfunction. The article provides an overview of the causes, classification and treatment

methods of bladder dysfunction.

The anatomy and physiology of the urinary bladder as well as the main forms of

urinary incontinence and the effect on various medications on urinary bladder function

are sescribed. Different modalities of physiatric treatment in the case of urinary

incontinence are dealt with in detail.
