Abstract

The presented case report describes a rare instance of an acute genital ulcer (Lipschütz ulcer) in a 13-year-old girl. Based on this case and the existing literature, the following conclusions can be drawn:
• Acute genital ulcer is an uncommon condition that may appear in adolescents, often before the onset of sexual activity, and is typically associated with a viral infection.
• Lipschütz ulcer is not caused by sexually transmitted infections.
• During the initial clinical assessment, the possibility of herpes infection should be considered, as it is a common cause of painful genital rash.
• Management is primarily symptomatic, focusing on pain relief. Topical glucocorticoids are sometimes used empirically to reduce inflammation.
• Ulcers usually heal spontaneously without scarring, and rarely recur.
