Abstract

Calcified giant thoracic disc herniations are rare. We give an example of fast developing calcified herniation at the Th8/9 level that was followed by spontaneous regression. In 2016, Xu et al. suggested that spontaneous regression may accompany herniation with calcific discitis. There are a handful of examples in the literature of calcified giant thoracic disc cases that regressed spontaneously.
