Abstract

Damage control surgery (DCS) is welldescribed and widely recognized strategy in the management of severely bleeding trauma patients. However, in patients with acute non-traumatic abdominal pathologies, the evidence is rather low, and the exact selection criteria of patients is unclear. The current article provides an overview and experience from the largest traumaand acute care surgery centre in Estonia including 19 cases.
