Abstract
Coeliac disease is an autoimmune disorder that occurs in genetically predisposed individuals. Coeliac disease is an frequent disease occurring up to 2% in population. The typical presentation is malabsorption syndrome (chronic diarrhoea, failure to thrive, abdominal distention), but 60% of patients have atypical or silent presentation of coeliac disease. Delayed diagnosis of coeliac disease increases risk for complications, also for cancer.
