Abstract
We present a case of 54 year old woman with a diagnosis of endometrioid cancer of the caesarean scar. After 3 courses of neoadjuvant chemotherapy and 5 cycles of palliative therapy, the patient was radically operated on, and adjuvant chemotherapy was administered afterwards. She is recurrence free after a 16-month follow-up.
Endometriosis-associated cancer is very rare, and associated with poor prognosis, with an overall 5-year survival rate of about 40%. Because of the rarity of the disease, there are no treatment guidelines. Multidisciplinary team meetings are therefore recommended. Most cases require extensive surgery, accompanied by chemotherapy.
