Abstract

We present a case of a patient with periorbital necrotizing fasciitis. Thanks to early recognition of the disease and prompt antibiotic therapy with debridement, a functional and aesthetic result was achieved. After the acute phase, the periorbital area was covered by an amniotic membrane. The patient received further care due to lagophthalmos, the inability to fully close eyelids. The most common complication of this disease is eyelid malposition due to scarring. Periorbital necrotizing fasciitis can have a rapid course, so delayed treatment has devastating results.
