Abstract

Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) has recently been recognized as a newly emerging infectious disease that is highly contagious with significant morbidity and mortality. This review describes the spread of the disease, its causal agent, diagnosis, clinical features, transmission, and prophylactic measures.
