Abstract

A selective non-operative management (SNOM) of penetrating abdominal injuries (PAI) is an integral part of modern trauma centres. The current article provides an overview of SNOM of PAI, including historical perspective, implementation and outcomes. Also, a recent article on SNOM of PAI in the region of Northern Europe, including the North Estonia Medical Centre, is discussed.
