Abstract
For over half a century corticosteroids have been successfully used in ophthalmology for different inflammatory and autoimmune conditions. As any medications, corticosteroids can have considerable side-effects, secondary glaucoma, cataract, inhibition of wound healing and exacerbation of infectious disease being the most severe and important in the area of ophthalmology. Therefore, the knowledge and consideration of the indications and contra-indications for corticosteroids is essential for avoiding unwanted iatrogenic damage the patients. Here three cases of patients maltreated with topical dexamethasone are presented.
