One of the most common complications of the disease is acute respiratory distress syndrome. Therefore, the cornerstone of treatment is oxygen therapy, which is usually provided as high flow nasal oxygen or mechanical ventilation in intensive care. Several drug treatments have been tested, but only remdesivir and<br \/>\ndexamethasone, which have antiviral and anti-inflammatory effects, respectively, have been introduced in routine clinical practise.
