Abstract
With the increasing digitalization of healthcare, user experience (UX) in clinical information systems has become a critical factor for quality and patient safety. This review discusses the importance of systematic UX evaluation in medical software and presents validated instruments (SUS, UMUX-Lite, NuHISS) for structured and comparable assessment. Drawing on a case study from Estonia’s Järvamaa Hospital (2024–2025), this article demonstrates the practical value of systematic UX measurement. Expanding the systematic evaluation of medical software usability in Estonia could lead to a significant improvement in healthcare professionals’ job satisfaction and help prevent adverse events along patient care pathways.
