Abstract

Fatigue can be defined as a pervasive sense of tiredness or lack of energy. Chronic fatigue is a common complaint, it coexists with many diseases and usually is transitory. Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) is characterised by persistent fatigue lasting over six months. The criteria include also other symptoms such as muscle pain with no identifiable organic disease and marked physical disability.
