Abstract

This review article describes the main ethical aspects that both authors and editors of scientific journals must keep in mind when publishing scientific works. These principles constitute the ethics of scientific publishing, the importance of which shows an obvious upward trend in research ethics. The structure of this review is based on the properties of scientific information stated in ICMJE recommendations (accurate, clear, reproducible, and unbiased), and its content presents the most typical ethical problems in the publication of scientific articles. Particular attention is paid to the more general principles of scientific publishing and issues of authorship. Ignoring these often leads to ethical problems in publishing scientific information. The summary of this article states the role of publication ethics in research ethics and the inevitable impact of artificial intelligence on the ethical aspects of the publication of scientific information.
