Uncommon prostatic cancer metastases in lungs in a patient receiving radium-223 isotope treatment

Articles PDF

Abstract

Radium- 223 is an isotope treatment which is currenty available in Estonia. This treatment could be used in mCRPC (metastatic castration resistent prostatic carcinoma) patients who have symptomatic bone metastases but no visceral metastases. This case describes an uncommon pattern of diffuse metastases of prostatic cancer in lungs, which was radiologically nonspecific and needed histological confirmation to make the best choice for further treatment of the patient.
