Health care and social services for people with HIV and injecting drug users

Abstract

One of the aims of the Estonian National HIV/AIDS Strategy for 2006–2015 is to improve the quality of life of people living with HIV (PLWH). Health care services for PLWH are provided by specialists of infectious diseases. Antiretroviral treatment  and health care services for uninsured PLWH are compensated for from the state budget and are free of charge for patients. In the framework of the national HIV/AIDS strategy a case management system is being developed for PLWH.
