Pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) is one of the key components of COPD treatment, which is costeffective but underused worldwide. At present, the possibilities of PR in Estonia do not correspond to the real need. The main priority of hospitals is orthopaedic and neurological rehabilitation. The PR service provided in Estonia needs significant development. It is important to create a system and specialized centres. A great step towards advancement is the creation of an Estonian guide for pulmonary rehabilitation for people with COPD. It is necessary to inform patients and specialists about the necessity and effectiveness of PR for patients with chronic pulmonary diseases.
