Abstract

A 78-year-old man with urinary retention was admitted to a local hospital. About 1.5 liters of urine were removed via a catether inserted in the urethra. As a consequence of rinsing the urinary bladder with saline, the scrotum increased in volume. A CT with cystography revealed a herniation of the bladder into the scrotum. A surgical hernia repair was performed and after the procedure the bladder function normalised entirely.
